Who writes the guides

The guides on this site are published by Zynthio. They are drafted with AI assistance, working from primary UK sources rather than from other people's articles. The sources we work from are the Food Standards Agency, the Health and Safety Executive, GOV.UK, legislation.gov.uk and Acas.

Every draft is reviewed by the Zynthio team before it is published. Nothing is published automatically.

Sources

Where a guide states a rule, a rate or a legal duty, it links to the source it came from, so you can check it yourself. If a claim has no source, treat it as our opinion rather than as a rule.

Dates and updates

Each guide carries an updated date. That date is the last time the guide was reviewed or changed, not the date it was first written. UK rules, rates and thresholds change, so an older date means the guide may be behind the current position.

Corrections

We correct errors on request. If something on a guide is wrong or out of date, email hello@zynthio.co.uk with the URL of the page and what you believe is wrong.

If we agree, we fix the guide and move its updated date. If we do not agree, we reply and say why.

Not legal advice

The guides are general information about running a UK venue. They are not legal, employment, tax or food safety advice, and they do not take account of your specific circumstances. Where a decision carries legal or financial risk, take proper advice or speak to your local authority.

Commercial interest

Zynthio sells hospitality management software, so we have an obvious commercial interest. Guides may mention what the Zynthio platform does. That does not change the rules a guide describes, and we do not accept payment from third parties to appear in a guide.
